Skills Canada National Competition 2023

1 Feb2023

What to Expect

Through SCNC, we promote skilled trade and technology careers to Canadian youth. The Skills Canada National Competition is an ideal way to connect with tomorrow’s workforce and to discover new and exciting careers! SCNC is the only national, multi-trade and technology competition for students and apprentices in the country. Each year, more than 550 competitors from all regions of Canada come to SCNC to participate in over 40 skilled trade and technology competitions. By providing a forum where Canadians can compete at the national level, SCNC provides hands-on work experience related to skilled trade and technology careers.

Skills/Compétences Canada (SCC) brings career exploration to new heights at SCNC! Student visitors have the unique opportunity to try over 50 Try-A-Trade® and Technology activities, explore the “Career Zone”, visit exhibitors and ask questions to industry professionals in person. Every year, thousands of students visit SCNC for a chance to discover the exciting and rewarding careers in skilled trades and technologies. School registrations will open at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year. Bus subsidies are available.

Winnipeg is Manitoba’s vibrant capital city and is considered the gateway to Western Canada and the heart of the nation. The city has more than 6,000 years of history as a result of its significance as an Indigenous meeting place. From the 17th to 19th centuries, the area flourished as the hub of Canada’s fur trade and then later again as a key site of early railroad development. With a population of 776,900 (2020) culturally diverse people, Winnipeg is a four season destination with a cosmopolitan flair and warm, welcoming spirit.
